The International Conference on Advanced Microscopy for Life Sciences and Materials (ICAM-2026) will be held from February 24–28, 2026 at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Quy Nhon, Vietnam.

The event will bring together leading scientists, experts, and technology companies in the fields of advanced microscopy and nano-biophysics from the United States, Japan, Canada, Spain, France, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, India, and Vietnam.

ICAM-2026 will focus on emerging trends in advanced imaging science and modern nanoscale analysis, including:

  • Cryo-EM, Cryo-ET, TEM, SEM, and STEM
  • Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), High-Speed AFM, Frequency-Modulation AFM, and SICM
  • Super-resolution fluorescence microscopy (STED, PALM, STORM)
  • Live-cell imaging and dynamic biological processes
  • In-situ and operando microscopy
  • AI and Big Data for biological and materials imaging analysis

One of the highlights of the conference is the “Hands-on Microscopy Training” course on February 24, 2026, designed for students, graduate researchers, and early-career scientists. The program includes both theoretical lectures and practical training sessions on SEM, AFM, live-cell imaging, image processing, and force-distance curve analysis.

This year’s conference will feature distinguished international speakers, including:

  • Teng-Leong Chew (USA)
  • Ricardo Garcia (Spain)
  • Ken Nakajima (Japan)
  • Takeharu Nagai (Japan)
  • Clemmens Cabernard (USA)
  • Eisaku Katayama (Japan)

In addition to plenary and parallel sessions on life sciences and materials science, ICAM-2026 will also feature:

  • Poster presentations and poster awards
  • Exhibition booths and equipment demonstrations
  • Gala dinner and networking events
  • Activities to strengthen microscopy networks in Vietnam and Southeast Asia

In particular, the conference will host a special networking discussion session entitled:
“Accelerating Microscopy Education, Training, and Shared Infrastructure,” focusing on advancing microscopy education, resource sharing, and infrastructure development in developing countries.

ICAM-2026 is expected to become an important international scientific forum promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among biology, materials science, AI, and nanotechnology, while further enhancing Vietnam’s position within the global microscopy community.
