Become a Member

The purpose of the Microscopy Society of Vietnam is to encourage the development and dissemination of knowledge in the field of biophysics. Members of the Microscopy Society of Vietnam are welcomed to embrace scientists who share the objectives of the Association and have experience or interest in physics and biology or related scientific fields. The Association aims to create a community for sharing, exchanging, and comprehensive collaboration to introduce and honor achievements and advancements in the field of biophysics.

Regular Members

The criteria for regular membership are for Vietnamese individuals conducting research and teaching related to Biophysics domestically and internationally, as well as for foreign individuals conducting research and teaching in the field of Biophysics while living and working in Vietnam for over 5 years.

All applicants must submit an application to join the Microscopy Society of Vietnam Association using the provided form, along with providing a scientific curriculum vitae. Individuals meeting the criteria outlined above must register to become regular members and pay the annual membership fee. Only regular members are eligible for nomination or self-nomination to the higher executive committee of the association and have the right to vote.

The annual membership fee for regular members is 240,000 VND (or $10 US dollars).

Student Members

The criteria for student membership are for all individuals currently high school students, undergraduate, or postgraduate students who meet the statutory criteria and objectives of the Microscopy Society of Vietnam Association. Student members enjoy the same benefits as regular members.

However, this type of member is not eligible to vote or to nominate/stand for election as executive committee members. Students who wish to become student members must register and pay the annual membership fee.

The membership fee for student members is 120,000 VND (or $5 US dollars).

Organizational Members

The criteria for organizational membership are for universities, research institutes, companies, and other organizations both domestically and internationally that endorse and support the objectives of the association. Organizational members enjoy the same benefits as regular members.

However, this type of member is not eligible to vote or to nominate/stand for election as executive committee members. Organizations wishing to become organizational members must register and pay the annual membership fee.

The membership fee for organizational members is 240,000 VND (or $10 US dollars).

Companion Members

The criteria for companion membership are for individuals, organizations within and outside the country, regardless of age, gender, profession, nationality, or religion. Any individual or organization wishing to become a member, meeting all the statutory membership criteria and objectives of the association, is eligible to register as a member. Companion members enjoy the same benefits as regular members.

However, this type of member is not eligible to vote or to nominate/stand for election as executive committee members. Any individual or organization wishing to become a companion member must register and pay the annual membership fee. The membership fee for companion members is 240,000 VND (or $10 US dollars).

Honorary and Distinguished Members

The criteria for honorary and distinguished membership are for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the field of Microscopy Society of Vietnam. These members will be nominated by the executive committee members of the association. Members under this category have the same rights as regular members and are exempt from paying annual membership fees.

  • Recognition, badge, and certificate of membership in the association;
  • Participation in the annual general meetings of the association.;
  • Eligibility to nominate/stand for election/vote for the positions of Co-Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and Executive Committee members of the association.
  • Priority consideration for discounted registration fees for conferences/scientific workshops organized or co-organized by the association.
  • Receipt of monthly/quarterly information from the association and its partners.
  • Participation in programs/projects, events, or awards organized by the association.
  • Consideration for introduction as representatives of the association to attend conferences, workshops, training courses, and relevant events both domestically and internationally.
  • Members nominated by the association to undertake official duties will be considered for travel and accommodation expenses as per regulations.
  • Nomination and candidacy for consideration for honors or awards for outstanding scientific contributions of the year.

Members who make significant/outstanding contributions to the activities and development of the association will be considered for recognition at the annual general meetings.

Membership Renewal

The fee for renewing membership with the Microscopy Society of Vietnam is currently 240,000 VND (or $10 US dollars) per year. For students, it is 120,000 VND (or $5 US dollars). Annual membership fees must be paid to the account of the Microscopy Society of Vietnam.

How to Become a Member?

Please use our registration form or send a letter to the office of the Microscopy Society of Vietnam. After submitting your registration form, if your profile is approved, membership status with the Microscopy Society of Vietnam will be reviewed and granted by the Microscopy Society of Vietnam council.
